Safe Keep

Privacy

Updated October 13, 2026

Safe Keep has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking SDKs. The list of things you add stays on your iPhone.

What the app sends

Instant alerts (default). To push a notification when a new recall matches, the app sends our server a random install ID, your push token and a coded version of each thing: make, model, year or barcode or brand. It never sends names you gave things, photos, your location or your full VIN. This data is used only to decide which alerts to send.

Private mode. Everything is matched on your phone. The server learns nothing about your list and you do not get background push alerts for new recalls.

VIN decoding. When you enter a VIN, the app asks the public NHTSA vPIC service to decode it. That request goes to NHTSA, not to us.

Recall data. The app downloads public recall files from our server (safekeep-api.sanghuynhxuan.com). Downloading does not identify what you own.

Camera and photos

The camera scans barcodes and VINs and reads label text on the device. Photos are not uploaded.

Purchases

Safe Keep Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.

Deleting your data

In the app, Settings, "Delete my alert keys from the server" removes everything we hold about your install. Deleting the app removes the list on your phone.

Children

Safe Keep collects no personal information about anyone, including children.
